Is Paintball Fun For Girls?
It’s no secret that paintball is typically a male-dominated sport. But, that shouldn’t mean that girls can’t get involved – anyone over the age of 7 can take part! But, do girls find paintball fun?
Yes, absolutely! Many girls find paintball an enjoyable activity. Whether for a hen do, birthday, or as a regular form of exercise, paintball can be a great way for girls to have a bit of fun! Plus, paintball isn’t a sport with any physical contact, which means it’s a very even playing field between guys and gals.

Do Girls Like Paintball?
Firstly, let’s dispel the myth that paintball is exclusively for boys. Today, more and more girls and women are discovering the excitement and adrenaline that a good paintball game can offer.
Some girls (and boys!) may be put off by the potential pain and bruising from being hit by a paintball. Whilst this does hurt, all the sites at Velocity Paintball use lower-impact paintball guns. This means that the pellets travel at a much slower pace, and therefore, don’t hurt as much, if at all!
Plus, paintball offers a level playing field where physical strength is not the sole determinant of success. Unlike some other sports, success in paintball relies on strategy, stealth, and quick thinking – qualities that are not gender-specific!
Paintball Tips For Girls
Whether you’re a seasoned player or completely new to the paintball scene, here are a few quick tips for any of you girls joining a paintball game:
- Don’t wear anything that you’re precious about; stick to athleisure, and stay away from skirts or dresses (learn more in this blog: What Should You Wear To Paintball?).
- Wear a padded bra; not only can this prevent a sore chest area, but a good bra can provide support whilst running around the field.
- Put your hair into braids; they stay put under a helmet and keep flyaways away from your face.
- Avoid long acrylic nails; you might find wearing protective gloves uncomfortable if you have long nails – keep them short if possible.
- Go for light makeup, or no makeup at all; if you wear full glam to a paintball game, you’ll more than likely sweat it off while playing. Instead, opt for a bit of concealer, waterproof mascara, and a long-lasting lip tint.
- Last, but certainly not least, don’t be afraid to get stuck in; paintball isn’t a sport with any physical contact, so it’s a level playing field between both guys and gals!

Is Paintball a Good First Date?
Contrary to popular belief, paintball can be a great idea for a first date! Not only is it super cheap compared to a fine dining restaurant, but we provide everything you could need, including protective headgear, overalls, and equipment – so you don’t have to worry about anything other than transport.
Not only does a friendly competition save any awkward silence, and pressure for forced chit-chat, but if the vibes are great, you can easily extend the date by going for a meal or grabbing a drink afterwards (or suggesting a rematch!).
However, it’s important to consider your date’s preferences and comfort level before suggesting paintball as a date idea. Not everyone enjoys high-intensity activities or getting messy, so make sure to communicate with your date and ensure they’re on board with the idea. If your date still finds the idea of paintballing a little daunting, you could try laser tag instead. Laser tag is almost the same game, but instead of shooting paintballs at one another, you instead shoot lasers (which don’t hurt at all!).
