How Fast Do Paintballs Go?
When you are going paintballing, it’s important to know how to play safely. Paintballing is an enjoyable sport but you need to be prepared so that you can enjoy it safely. A common question we get at Velocity Paintballs is: how fast do paintballs go?
Paintballs on average have a speed of 180 to 200 mph (265 to 295 feet per second). This can increase or decrease depending on the paintball marker that you are using.
Read on to learn more about the speed of paintballs, if it hurts and if paintballing is suitable for children.
What Is The Maximum Speed Of A Paintball?
The maximum speed that a paintball can travel is 300 ft per second. On average paintball markers can shoot 180 to 200 mph (265 to 295 fps). Most paintball sites choose markers that have a lower speed to ensure the safety of the user and to meet the guidelines of the United Kingdom Paintball Association.
Our paintball markers here at Velocity Paintball are of a lower speed so that the game is suitable for all ages.
How Hard Does A Paintball Hit You?
When playing paintball, there is a risk of you getting hit quite hard. You might feel a little sting when the paintball hits you. But because we operate with 50 cal paintballs you are much less likely to bruise as they are lower impact. The speed, distance and where on your body will determine how hard the paintball hits you.
Which Body Parts Hurt The Most?
The most painful parts of the body to be hit are:
- The Hand, particularly your fingers. We offer protective gloves for you to hire when you arrive so there is less of a chance of impact.
- Back of the Head. We provide full-coverage goggles to protect the sensitive areas on your head.
- Inside of your Leg. As we provide you with full coverage overalls, this should lessen the impact of a hit to your thigh.
Are Paintballs Safe For Kids?
Yes, our paintballs are safe for children. As we use low-impact paintballs for our paintball games, children as young as 7 are able to join in on the fun. Our paintballs, paintball markers and safety equipment are designed to keep your child safe and avoid any painful endeavours.
A waiver is legally needed to be signed by a parent or guardian if your child is under the age of 18. If you want more information about what your kids need before taking part give us a call 01753316073.
We also offer kids’ parties, designed to suit your children’s needs so they can enjoy this amazing sport.
