Paintball is a great sport, but some might assume that it is only safe for adults – which simply isn’t the case. In this article, our paintballing experts explain the age limits for both traditional and low-impact paintball, helping you to make informed decisions for yourself and your little ones. So, how old do you have to be to go paintballing?

Paintball is perfect for 7 years – 107 years! If you feel fit and able to join in, then you can take part in paintballing. We use low-impact paintballs, which are more than suitable for younger players. For high-impact paintball, some locations may have a minimum age requirement or need parental consent.

Read on to find out more about the age limits for paintball or if a parent can bring kids along to a paintballing session.

Is There an Age Limit For Paintball?

Yes, there is an age limit for taking part in paintball. For traditional paintball, you would typically need to be over 12 years of age to join. However, this may vary from venue to venue.

On the other hand, low-impact paintball can be played by anyone over 7 years of age, regardless of height, weight, or gender. These types of paintballs travel at a much lower speed, and are a much smaller size, making them suitable for younger people in particular. Paintball can be a great activity for kids’ parties or as a weekend activity for the whole family!

Who Can’t Play Paintball?

Paintball is safe to play as long as you are fit and healthy. We wouldn’t recommend playing paintball, of any kind if you are:

  • Under 7 years of age
  • Are pregnant or have recently given birth
  • Have been diagnosed with a heart condition
  • Under the influence of drugs or alcohol
  • Struggling with any other health conditions that could be exacerbated whilst playing paintball

If you’re unsure as to whether you can play paintball, don’t hesitate to ask our team for advice. Send us an email using team@velocitypaintball.co.uk or give us a call on 01753316073.
